“…..we had a meeting yesterday with someone who frequents the gym often and they are very impressed with the cleaning that is taking place.” “Even though we know this is the standard practice for the disinfecting procedure the clients do not and it is providing an ease of mind to the users that the space is super safe so that business can operate successfully during this pandemic.”

Celena S.

“Matt did a fantastic job! He was on time, courteous and professional. I have severe allergies and Matt used green products that cleaned well and didn’t leave an odor.  I’ve tried other cleaners and was never satisfied – sticky residue, streaks and a strong perfume odor. Count me a satisfied customer and I will definitely continue to use this company.”

FAQ

Can you perform to LEED standards?

Yes, we currently service properties that are LEED certified and have worked through the certification process with the property management staff to assist with their application.

Do you have a sustainability policy?

Yes, we have a written sustainability plan. We care very much about our environment, and yours. We try our best to live our personal lives with a “leave no trace” attitude. It can be difficult to manage a cleaning profession in the same “leave no trace” mentality, which is why we believe that developing environmentally sustainable business practices is an imperative step toward decreasing our company’s carbon footprint.

Green Cleaning in Minneapolis and St. Paul

If you are searching for an environmentally conscious janitorial company in Minneapolis or St. Paul, look no further. At Commercial Cleaning Contractors, we care deeply about human health and the health of our environment. That’s why we employ green cleaning methods whenever possible.

What is Green Cleaning?

To us the interpretation is simple.  Being green is about consistently achieving the desired result, using safe, efficient and responsible practices.  We take a “wholistic” approach.  Re-evaluating our objectives and procedures as our industry knowledge continues to evolve.

In general terms “green cleaning” is a relatively vague explanation of a very dynamic idea.  A phrase that can have a lot of different meanings and is often misunderstood. For instance, a green cleaning label on a bottle can indicate a variety of things, depending on how a company has chosen to interpret the designation. Cleaning products might be classified as green if they have any of the following characteristics like low levels of toxicity, have no artificial colors or fragrances, are fair trade certified, contain organically grown ingredients, or come in packaging that is biodegradable or recyclable. Green cleaning can also refer to cleaning practices that minimize power consumption and other types of waste, or even efforts to reduce workplace sensitivities.

Though broadly speaking, “green cleaning” means using cleaning products and methods that do minimal damage to the environment and/or human health, the term has no widely agreed upon definition. There is no established standard for what constitutes green cleaning, so every company in the commercial cleaning industry must develop its own unique approach to achieving an eco-friendly business model.

Our Approach to Green Cleaning

At CCC our team cleans green every day, we focus on using our cleaning solutions responsibly, and equipment efficiently.

The cleaning products we use are dispensed by a dilution control system in order to increase safety, ensure proper dilution, prevent improper use of cleaning product, and eliminate single use containers.  Often, “green cleaning products” are just products that have been diluted. Sometimes, working with these diluted products is not the best option, because more chemical volume tends to be used to achieve the desired results. Rather than just relying on diluted products, we train our team members to use cleaning solutions responsibly.  Along with utilizing reusable products, such as engineered microfiber pads, cloths and twin bucket mopping systems, we are able to perform to the “Reduce and Reuse” standard.   We are always working to avoid wasting unnecessary resources, while completing every job to the highest standard.

Just because a label says a product is green doesn’t make long-term or over exposure safe.  Our crew’s safety is of paramount performance.  Each member of our team receives specific training on the safety equipment we have available, the green cleaning solutions they use, and the supplies and tools they are equipped with.  That training is constantly evaluated by a supervisor or manager.

In addition to choosing chemicals wisely, the equipment you choose has a HUGE impact on your entire “green footprint”. When choosing equipment for our accounts we research and measure the equipment based on impact from several factors like noise, power consumption and water usage. Applying those factors and determining the potential impacts to the building’s occupants, janitorial crew, and the environment is how we achieve the best balance of sustainability and affordability. Whenever possible we use equipment that has been certified, like the gold or platinum certifications by The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI), because it is powerful and efficient.  Our crew members are trained in how to maintain the equipment they use, understanding we expect it is always looking and running at its peak performance.  This, in turn, allows us to cut back on our personnel’s energy consumption making their work easier.

All of these benefits come without sacrificing any quality to your services.  Whether you are LEED certified (https://www.usgbc.org/leed), or working towards your WELL certification (https://www.wellcertified.com/) contact our experts today.  We would love to talk to you today about your green initiatives, and how Commercial Cleaning Contractors is prepared to help you achieve your goals.
